Book of the Day

Before I Die by Jenny Downham

At sixteen, life should be about friends, boys, school, parties  and dreaming about the person you plan to be.  Tessa is planning all of the above, but her time-line is skewed.  For four years Tessa has accepted the many invasive procedures to keep her leukemia in remission.  As her disease becomes more aggressive, with little hope of recovery, she chooses to discontinue the debilitating and confining treatments.  Tessa’s story is about a list of hopes and dreams and how with the help of friends and family she lives a lifetime in a few months.
